Since 2018, Taipei Fashion Week has been jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taipei City Government, and its Department of Cultural Affairs in order to foster Taipei fashion design and provide a platform where designers can showcase their work.
Each October, the festival highlights selected Taiwanese fashion brands under a designated theme and develops a dynamic presentation integrating innovative digital elements, performing arts, and pop music.
Renowned fashion experts are also invited to take part in exchange activities where they share their cross-disciplinary expertise and experience, helping spread knowledge, provide opportunities for exchange and learning, amplify community presence, and shape Taipei’s image as a fashion-forward city.
Every year, new and emerging designer brands are selected to participate in fashion showcases. Taipei Fashion Week also collaborates with Fashion in Taipei, Taipei IN Style, and international fashion institutions to host a series of promotional activities, including street fashion shows, international forums, designer pop-up stores, and grand runway events. These efforts provide opportunities for global exchange and learning in fashion design and also enable the people of Taipei to take part in the city-wide celebration.
