Q: What’s the origin of Taipei Fringe Festival? When will it begin?

A: Fringe originates in Edinburgh of United Kingdom, where its spirit of liberty rapidly won the approval of creators. Now after more than sixty years of development, Fringe has become the largest and most popular art festival in the world.

Since 2008, Taipei Fringe Festival, based on the ideal of liberty and freedom, widely accepted performing troupes without judges or selection. The content of performances has seen a wide of variety, as well as fun and adventures.

Participating audience is considered a part of Fringe community, who support innovative ideas through enjoying the programs. This year, Taipei Fringe Festival will be held from August 6 to 28 in a total of 37 sites and spaces in Taipei City.
