Who are you?

A person’s “inner demon” is like a psychological wall.

Obsession makes this wall grow taller and taller,

until eventually it becomes an immense shadow, substantial enough to obscure your vision.

Within this shadow, you lose sight of yourself,

your true self remains concealed, and only chaos and fear remain in plain view.

A Wall of the Heart (心垣) explores the inner psychological transformation of characters through puppetry, showcasing traditional puppetry skills. It delves into the perspective of Monkey King (孫悟空), examining inner psychological elements such as self-doubt, childhood origins, fear, obsession, and malevolence. The production represents a cross-cultural dialectic, offering a process of self-reflection, a confrontation with one’s inner demons, a warning about how obsession leads people down a treacherous path, and an exploration of the profound “wall of the heart” (心垣) within.
