Jianguo Beer Factory
Jianguo Beer Factory <br>

Originally established under the Japanese colonial government, the Jianguo Beer Factory’s forerunner, the Takasago Beer Company, was the first brewery in Taiwan and enjoyed prestige on a par with the Sapporo Brewery of Hokkaido, Japan. Expanded in the1960s, the Jianguo Beer Factory achieved an output of over 144 million bottles, its quality lager winning international awards including the Monde Selection award of Belgium.
The original complex featured a mixture of structures made of redbrick, stone and steel-reinforced concrete. Later additions were primarily brick wall and steel truss structures, reflecting the evolution of construction technology. Though now decommissioned, much of the facility’s equipment remains on-site, as historical evidence of the development of Taiwan’s brewing industry
