1. Application Process
For events held within six months, application must be submitted between the first and tenth of February (April, June, August, October, or December).

The application must include an original and a photocopy of your application materials. They should be sent to the Department of Cultural Affairs by registered mail or delivery by hand.

2. Venues in the Downtown
If an event is held on the streets of downtown Taipei, the Department of Cultural Affairs will authorize the event. The downtown streets include:

Xinyi District: the northern section of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Chante Boulevard (the pedestrian zone between A8 Branch and A10 Branch of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Dep. Store), the southern section of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Chante Boulevard (the pedestrian area between A9 Branch and A11 Branch of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Dep. Store), the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Chante Square, and the pedestrian area in front of Vieshow Cinemas

Ximending Pedestrian Precinct: Sec. 2, Wuchang St. between Kunming St. and Kangding Rd.; the plaza between Emei St. and Hanzhong St.; the plaza between Sec. 2, Wuchang St. and Hanzhong St.; and Sec. 2, Wuchang St. between Xining S. Rd. and Kunming St.

4. Deposits and Fees
Deposits: You must pay a deposit of NT$100,000 on a venue of your application (regardless of the hours or numbers of days). With two venues or above in the same application, the deposit will be increased based on the number of venues. Three days after events, you can ask for a refund of your deposit. The deposit may be refunded without any violation of the rules.

Fees:
NT$10,000 venue rental for public space between 0:00 am and 12:00 noon. NT$15,000 venue rental for public space between 12:00 noon and 0:00 am. NT$40,000 venue rental for public space throughout the day. The public space includes the northern section of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Chante Boulevard (the pedestrian zone between A8 Branch and A10 Branch of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Dep. Store); the southern section of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Chante Boulevard (the pedestrian area between A9 Branch and A11 Branch of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Dep. Store); Sec. 2, Wuchang St. between Kunming St. and Kangding Rd.; and the plaza between Emei St. and Hanzhong St.

NT$20,000 venue rental for popular space between 0:00 am and 12:00 noon. NT$30,000 venue rental for popular space between 12:00 noon and 0:00 am. NT$80,000 venue rental for popular space throughout the day. The popular space includes the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Chante Square; the pedestrian area in front of Vieshow Cinemas; the plaza between Sec. 2, Wuchang St. and Hanzhong St.; and Sec. 2, Wuchang St. between Xining S. Rd. and Kunming St.

The venue rental involves making pre-event arrangements and removing all event equipment from event site.
