Wellspring Theater

Wellspring Theatre
Introduction to Wellspring Theater

Located on the 10th floor of the Wellspring Theater(水源市場)t building in the bustling Gongguan area, Wellspring Theater was formerly an auditorium used by the Department of Compulsory Military Service. In 2009, in compliance with the "Gongguan Riverside" scheme initiated by the Taipei City Government (TCG), the venue was remodeled as a 500-seat experimental theater and placed under the administration of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government. Now undergoing trial operation, Wellspring Theater is a venue designed for regular performances in Taipei. It is expected to accumulate local cultural force through linking spots such as Treasure Hill Artist Village, Taipei Water Park, Gongguan Night Market, Hakka Cultural Park, and Kishu An Forest of Literature. This will help to revive Taipei's performing arts industry and bonding development along Tamsui River, together with the artistic installation at Heart of the Fountainhead, making Wellspring Theater(水源市場) building a new cultural landmark in the Taipei riverside area.
