An Exchange Platform for World Cultural Heritage: Qin

Entrusted by Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, Taipei Qin Hall is established by Chinese Guqin Association at the Japanese House which is located in Qidong Street.  The Japanese House was used to be an official residence for Japanese public servants during Japanese ruled period. The Japanese style building was built approximately between 1920 and 1940, which has been determined as a historical building and a cultural heritage of Taipei City now.  Telling the stories of Qin in the historical building is such a meaningful activity for this cultural heritage.

The purpose of founding Taipei Qin Hall is to promote Qin.  Considering to pass on the vocational research and the traditional culture of Qin, Taipei Qin Hall combines calligraphy, hanging scroll painting, Chinese tea ceremony, flower arranging and incense burning and holds some activities such as Exhibition of Qin in successive dynasty and in modern life, concerts, overseas exchange activities and lectures that introduces the history and the meaning of Qin.  The humanities and cultural activities are able to enrich the life of people who are interested in this world cultural heritage and tell them a lot more knowledge about the culture of Qin.
