They devoted their lives to honing their craft and refining their passion,

leaving behind them a land rich in cultural history.

We embark on the Taipei Master of Traditional Arts Exhibition

to pay tribute to the great preservers of intangible cultural assets.

All are welcome to come and experience in person the spirit and inner riches of the traditional arts.

Taipei Master of Traditional Arts—2021 Taipei Annual Registration of Intangible Cultural Assets Certification Exhibition

Exhibition Period: Saturday, December 3–Thursday, December 22

Venue: Rooms 129–131, Bopiliao Historic Block

Opening hours: 10 am–5 pm. Closed Monday.

The exhibition is divided into three major zones.

Entering the exhibition hall, the first thing visitors see is the large-scale knot installation art Leisurely Travels (逍遙遊) by Chen Hsia-Sheng (陳夏生)

and a variety of Chinese knot masterpieces.

The new piece Concentric Knot (同心結) was specially made for the exhibition.

Next, visitors see film stills of Yang Lien-Ying in a variety of glowing in-character poses

and wudan costumes and props for Yang Paifeng (楊排風) and Mu Guiying (穆桂英).

Different characters have different kinds of wudan dress and makeup.

In Bao’an Temple, exhibits include Taiwanese palanquins

and reports of festivities from the 1925 Taiwan Daily News

bearing witness to the long history of the 2022 Baosheng Cultural Festival.

A fascinating exhibition.
