Now in its second year, the international urban music festival Trendy Taipei will run for 16 days from August 22 to September 6. Themed TAIPEI IN VIBES, this year’s festival embodies the idea of a city driven by music. You are invited to log on and begin your very own cultural exploration. Diverse rhythms and creative forms pulsate through the city’s core, from major arenas and concert venues to neighborhood streets and alleys, and from stage performances to everyday life. These diverse energies flow and converge, shaping Taipei’s unique cultural landscape. This year’s Trendy Taipei focuses on marketing the city by both integrating and continuing, while at the same time upgrading existing frameworks. Three strands—The Concert Economy, Industry Trends and Urban Action—connect the festival’s fourteen event series, building a network of events spanning different venues and time slots. Music is no longer confined to stage performances, but instead becomes the rhythm of the city, flowing through the streets and into everyday life. As festival-goers move through the different scenes, they will both feel and help create a multiplicity of vibes.
