What is the difference between a historical site and a historical building?

The term “historical site” refers to an antique building, traditional settlement, old district, archaeological site or other historical or cultural remnants that has been officially designated and publicly declared according to the Cultural Assets Preservation Law.
The term “historical building” refers to an antique building, traditional settlement, old district or other historical or cultural remnants that has not been officially designated as an historical site, but possess historical or cultural value.
