What are the regulations regarding protected trees within engineering areas in Taipei?

According to the "Taipei City Tree Protection Bylaw" (Article 6), those who engage in architecture, road, park, green area construction, or other infrastructure construction should submit documents of entries, preservation, transplant, and restoration plans regarding protected trees within the construction areas to administrative units for approval and thus obtain a license issued by the Public Works Department before commencing construction.

In cases where the construction sites are located on public land, all protected trees on the site should be preserved. If original preservation is not possible, the real estate developer should be liable for formulating and submitting transplantation and restoration plans to the administrative units for approval. Following the approval, the real estate developer may thereby commence transplantation and is also liable for all expenses incurred.

In the case that the construction site belongs to private land, the developers are required to formulate transplantation and restoration plans and apply to the appropriate administrative units for permission to complete transplantation, and should be liable for the expenses thereby incurred.
