On July 18, 2026, the annual cultural event 2026 TRENDY TAIPEI, organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, launched its highly anticipated pre-event, 2026 Taipei Super Live! Proceedings kicked off with a press conference at the southern section of Xiangti Avenue Plaza in Xinyi District, followed by a live concert on July 19, 2026.

With this year’s bold slogan, “ENVY THE DRIP. Catch the Wave” the Department of Cultural Affairs is breaking away from the traditional confines of indoor venues for the first time, bringing together 27 distinctive live venues, music restaurants, and other music venues across Taipei. By bringing the raw energy and passion of live music into one of the city’s most fashionable districts, the event showcases the authentic spirit of Taipei’s live music scene and announces the arrival of 78 live performances taking place over six weeks starting in August.

At the press conference, Taipei Deputy Mayor Lin Yi-hua said, “The soul of music lives in the live experience! Live venues have long accompanied the development of Taiwanese pop and original music. They have not only nurtured generations of outstanding musicians, but have also become an important part of Taipei’s urban cultural identity.”

Deputy Mayor Lin noted that for the first time this year’s 2026 Taipei Super Live! will be bringing the energy of live performances to Xiangti Avenue Plaza in Xinyi District, allowing more people to experience the excitement of live performances up close. She also invited everyone to begin their musical journey from the streets and explore Taipei’s diverse live venues, experiencing the most authentic side of the city’s music culture.

Building on the momentum of last year’s event, Taipei Super Live! 2025 attracted more than 6,000 attendees, establishing the event as one of the most talked-about cultural highlights of the summer in the TRENDY TAIPEI series and successfully contributing to Taipei’s nighttime economy. By connecting live venues with urban neighborhoods, the event encouraged audiences to explore and visit music venues throughout the city.

This year, the event has been further expanded—not only connecting more music venues, but also bringing the energy of live performances directly into the streets of the Xinyi commercial district for the first time. The initiative aims to attract more residents and visitors to experience Taipei’s unique urban music culture.

Chairman Hsu Li-ping of the TAIWAN LIVE MUSIC INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION expressed his appreciation for the Department of Cultural Affairs’ continued support for Taipei’s live music industry. He noted that this year’s event brings together 27 live venues, a new record.

In addition to an exhibition describing the unique features of each participating venue, the event features the interactive Music Classroom stage, where visitors can try their hand at common instruments such as guitar, drums, and keyboard. Other interactive activities, including a fun photo booth and drink tastings, will also be available. The event incorporates these wide-ranging experiences to encourage more people to come to live venues and experience firsthand the excitement of live performance.

Public-Private Collaboration Connects Taipei’s Live Venues in Support of TRENDY TAIPEI

2026 Taipei Super Live! officially began on August 1, connecting 27 live venues across Taipei City and presenting 78 live performances over six consecutive weeks. Music lovers were invited to step inside Taipei’s live venues and experience the authentic energy of live music.

As a warm-up to the main program, the kickoff concert took place over two days, July 18 and 19, at the southern section of Xiangti Avenue Plaza in Xinyi District. The main stage featured a total of 12 performances spanning a wide range of musical styles.

On July 18, Yifeng Zhuo headlined the opening performance, followed by performances from China Pa Dining & Live Music, NUZONE, Zentopia Taipei, Rhythmscape, and BEING MUSIC XinYi.

On July 19, performances continued with Oldie Goodie Live Bar, Sappho Live Jazz, My Home Live Music Performance Space, Super 346 Live House, Jack’s studio, and Continue Music Studio × Lucky Cypher. Together, these artists and venues showcased the diversity and creative energy of Taipei’s vibrant live venue scene, setting the stage for the official launch of the series in August.

As performances began on July 18, crowds quickly gathered at the venue, creating an energetic and enthusiastic atmosphere. The event site was filled with people eager to enjoy the performances, and applause and cheers rang out throughout the day.

To give back to music fans and generate tangible benefits for the surrounding community, all 27 participating live venues also joined the initiative by offering limited-edition discount vouchers each worth NT$200.

The vouchers were distributed both at the kickoff concert and at the music venue joint exhibition. Visitors who uploaded photos from the event to a designated social media post and tagged their favorite participating venue could also redeem a voucher at the event service counter. Vouchers were available while supplies lasted.

Experience Taipei Through Music and the City’s Creative Energy

Taipei’s appeal lies in the continuous interaction of different cultures and creative energy, which shape the city’s distinctive character.

The second edition of the international urban music festival 2026 TRENDY TAIPEI is taking place from August 22 to September 6. Under this year’s theme, TAIPEI IN VIBES, the festival has brought together 14 programs across three major dimensions: concert economy, industry trends, and urban action.

Organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, 2026 Taipei Super Live! is one of the key cross-disciplinary programs of this year’s TRENDY TAIPEI.
