Organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, as part of the annual 2026 TRENDY TAIPEI cultural series, 2026 Taipei Super Live! is connecting 27 live venues across Taipei from August 1 to September 6, presenting 78 performances spanning jazz, pop, rock, electronic music, folk, world music, and more.

Audiences are invited to come to live venues and experience the vibrant nightlife and live music culture that make Taipei unique. The event features a carefully curated selection of performances, ranging from international bands and Golden Melody Award-winning musicians to hip-hop and rap acts and some of Taiwan’s leading jazz artists. Whether you are a seasoned music fan or visiting a live venue for the first time, there is a musical experience waiting for you.

Leading Jazz Artists Come Together to Showcase the Strength of Taiwan’s Jazz Scene

The featured performances take place across distinctive live venues throughout Taipei, each showcasing its own musical style and cultural character.

Blackbird Coffee presents two major jazz performances. On August 2, saxophonist Hsieh Ming-yen, recipient of two Golden Melody Awards and seven Golden Indie Music Awards, led a jazz quartet in a performance highlighting the sophistication and improvisational energy of Taiwan’s jazz scene. The performance delivered one musical highlight after another and received enthusiastic responses from the audience.

On August 13, Blackbird Coffee will welcome Rich Huang, known as the “King of Drums in Taiwan” and recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Golden Indie Music Awards, for a jazz trio performance, giving music lovers an opportunity to experience the timeless appeal of Taiwanese jazz up close.

Rock Bands Take the Stage with High-Energy Performances and the Infectious Power of Live Music

Wild Lab presented an unplugged special by P!SCO on August 2.

Hailing from Taipei, P!SCO is known for blending electronic music, classical music, punk, metal, and other elements. Known for its energetic interaction with audiences, the band has been nominated for Best Live Performance at the Golden Indie Music Awards and is recognized as one of the most iconic live bands in Taiwan in recent years.

Latin Flavors and Swing Jazz Create an Immersive Musical Experience

For those looking to experience music from different cultures, EZ5 Live house and China Pa Dining & Live Music offer two distinctive programs.

On August 14, EZ5 Live house will present Rhythms of Rio, featuring a Latin music ensemble using accordion, guitar, and Brazilian pandeiro to create a vibrant South American atmosphere.

On August 19, China Pa Dining & Live Music will present Happy Valentine's Day Taipei, featuring singer An Tsai alongside Swing Dance Maxi Kingdom. Combining jazz vocals and swing dancing with the venue’s distinctive Chinese-inspired setting and dining culture, the program creates an immersive experience bringing together music, food, and performance.

International Bands Take the Stage in a Celebration of Cross-Border Musical Exchange

This year’s program also features a series of international exchange performances.

Located at Breeze Center, MOONDOG will bring together popular Japanese indie band Wisteria and Hong Kong band Goodnight, Lillie on August 21.

On September 4, PIPE Live Music will welcome Canadian emerging Dream Pop/Shoegaze band The Neverminds for the first stop of their Asian tour, giving local audiences an opportunity to experience the appeal of international independent music up close. The performance is one of the most anticipated international exchange programs in this year’s series.

Sappho Live Jazz and Rhythmscape Take the Stage: Must-See Performances for Jazz Fans

Jazz fans will not want to miss two major performances at Sappho Live Jazz.

On August 22, Brandon Lin & TruthSeeker will perform alongside internationally acclaimed saxophonist Eric Nakanishi. Featuring trombone, saxophone, and a quintet lineup, the performance will showcase the dynamic sound of contemporary jazz.

On August 27, Alan Chang Quintet will take the stage, bringing together some of Taiwan’s leading jazz musicians to present the mature and refined musical energy of the country’s jazz scene.

Rhythmscape will also present the Golden Autumn Big Band on August 27. Featuring a 12-piece ensemble combining jazz and pop elements, the performance offers a large-scale big band experience rarely seen in Taiwan.

Meanwhile, YUPPY will present Plutato Live Session, whose work has been recognized with the Golden Melody Award for Best Recording Album and the Golden Indie Music Award for Best Jazz Album. Through creative original works and cross-genre collaborations, the performance will showcase the diverse possibilities of contemporary jazz.

K-Pop, Electronic Music and Folk Bring Together a Wide Range of Musical Styles

Pop music and stage performances are equally prominent in this year’s program.

On August 21, SMEXY will present 80' Rock & Soul, featuring nine singers backed by the five-piece SMEXY Live Band. Combining K-Pop with singing and dance performances, the program will bring an energetic and dynamic stage experience to audiences.

The program also features outdoor and folk music performances.

On September 5, MAJI Square stage will host the free-admission Mountain & Sea Electronic Music Party. DJ Dungi Sapor will collaborate with Kanatal Cultural Dance Troupe, combining electronic music with Indigenous culture to create a nighttime event blending music, markets, and cultural experiences.

On August 7, Gongguan Waterfront Plaza will host a free live band performance, with another performance scheduled for September 4. Audiences can enjoy the gentle breeze, starlit skies, music, and beer for a relaxed summer evening by the waterfront.

On September 6, My Home Live Music Performance Space will present Reimagining Folk Songs: New Interpretations, featuring newly arranged versions of classic folk songs and presenting cherished memories of Taiwanese music in a fresh form, bringing this year’s event to a heartwarming and memorable conclusion.

This year’s 78 performances at 2026 Taipei Super Live! not only showcase the distinctive character of Taipei’s live venues, but also present a comprehensive portrait of the city’s rich and diverse music culture.

From intimate live venues and jazz bars to music restaurants, bookstores, cafés, and outdoor performance stages, each live venue has its own sound and story. Together, they form one of the most vibrant and distinctive cultural landscapes of Taipei’s nightlife.

The second edition of the international urban music festival 2026 TRENDY TAIPEI will take place from August 22 to September 6. Under this year’s theme, TAIPEI IN VIBES, the festival brings together 14 programs across three major dimensions: “Concert Economy,” “Industry Trends,” and “Urban Action.”

Among them, 2026 Taipei Super Live!, organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, is one of the key cross-disciplinary programs of this year’s TRENDY TAIPEI.
