The Sin Hong Choon building

Introuduction:

The Sin Hong Choon building is one of the most typical three-story shops in Taipei and is the embodiment of tea culture. The building is the width of three rooms and three halls deep. The four-in-one fully functioning building served as a tea shop, tea refinery, warehouse, and residence for the owner. The interior can be divided into the following areas: warehouse and refinery on the first floor; tea-picking room, storage room, office, and reception on the second floor; and the ancestral shrine and family rooms on the third floor. The building is a mixture of Taiwanese and western architectural styles: the Qilian stonewall is similar to the Taipei’s city wall, with its English bond technique, while the geometric figure decorating the building are very modernist. The building itself shows the international nature of the business.
