Grand Opening of 2017 Digital Art Festival Taipei

Grand Opening of 2017 Digital Art Festival Taipei

On November 10, the long-established Digital Art Festival Taipei held grand openings at its two venues— Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, and the Digital Art Center, Taipei.

This year marks the 12th Digital Art Festival Taipei, which has been held since 2006 by the Department of Cultural Affairs (DOCA) of Taipei City Government. This year’s festival theme is Conflux—Infinity. All comers are welcome. In charge of the festival is Hu’s Art, whose curator Sappho Loh has been interested in the digital art field for many years and is herself an artist.

The festival was opened with a bang by the beats and electronica of HH (an artist duo comprising Yao Chung-han and Yeh Ting-hao) and percussion duo As One. This annual digital art festival brings the latest trends in digital art to Taipei and introduces the most recent developments in digital art in Taiwan to the people of Taipei, said DOCA deputy commissioner Li-ju Lee. This year’s exhibition has three main areas: the International Digital Art Exhibition, the Emerging Digital Artists Group Exhibition, and the Retrospective on the Digital Art Festival Taipei. The exhibits in each area complement and dialogue with each other, forming an interesting combination.

Opening times: 10 am to 6 pm, from Friday 10 November to Sunday 19 November
Venue 1: Warehouse 5 & North Tobacco Factory, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (133 Guangfu South Road, Xinyi District, Taipei)
Venue 2: Digital Art Center, Taipei (180 Fuhua Road, Shilin District, Taipei)
